The general objective of the project is to significantly improve the well-being of the communities by providing access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation facilities and training in good hygiene practices. These communities and local governments will be equipped to facilitate sustainable WASH interventions and services. The Rotary Club of Sacramento, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa de Copan and World Vision Honduras, is pleased to implement this large-scale WASH project in Copan, western Honduras. The Honduran WASH project will be modeled after the two previous WASH projects successfully completed by Rotary and World Vision Honduras. The project will bring services directly to over 7000 people in 13 communities, 10 schools and 5 healthcare units. Without safe drinking water, basic sanitation and healthy hygiene behaviors in homes, schools and health units, sustainable human development is impossible.
