MOST IMPACTFUL 
This River Clean Up was done on March 23 in La Piedad Michoacán México, there the Rotarians involved students from three Universities UNIVA, CONALEP and University of Michoacán, Rotarians from USA D5130, México D4140, Ecuador D4400 participated in the Clean Up.
 
This particular Clean Up was very emotional for me because in 2013 we started the River Clean Up project with the purpose that someday we would begin the River Clean Up of Río Lerma and this is the Rio Lerma, one of the longest and most contaminated rivers in México.

In here we had over 350 participants in the Clean Up and collected close to 25 metric tons of garbage out the of the river

  • Participants: 350 students and staff from La Piedad Technological Institute, UNIVA La Piedad Campus, La Piedad CONALEP, La Piedad Municipal Council.

Opportunities  
  • Cleaning of the meander shunt.
  • Improve Logistics in general: arrival of students,  distribution of work gangs, hydration points, safety and hygiene equipment, (gloves, boots, trash bags). Rotary image: flyer and information canvas, equipment for collection (poles) , hooks, ropes, wheelbarrows, brush cutter. 
  • Participation of the students of Cobaem (Colegio de Bachilleres of the State of Michoacán) La Piedad.
  • Participation and distribution of tasks, from Rotary members.
  • Continue participating in the Metropolitan Citizen Observatory to generate a Project with different social actors. 
  • Develop a large Rescue Project of the Lerma River Meander that includes a Linear Lagoon with a double level.
